VR-038 "LIGHT RECON CYCLONE"

Statistics

Description

The light combat Cyclone is standard issue for Recon Scout-class soldiers.  Extra shielding has been sacrificed for higher mobility and shorter recharge time.  This armor is tailor-made for long-distance encounters and stealth missions thanks to its night and thermal-vision modes.

VR-041 "SABER CYCLONE"

Statistics

Description

While the VR-041 is an older-model Cyclone, it is second only to the brand new VR-098 regarding close quarters combat.  It has been nicknamed the "Saber" thanks to the retractable, high-frequency vibroblades (CADS-1) on each arm.  Night-vision mode makes combat in dark areas no problem.

VR-052 "STANDARD CYCLONE"

Statistics

Description

The standard issue for all infantry, this Cyclone is built to get REF troops in and out of areas where a long distance strike is just not an option.  Getting up close and personal with the Invid still is not recommended, but the VR-052 will give you a fighting chance.  The cyclone is equipped with night-vision to aid the pilot in low light areas.

VR-098 "DEVASTATOR CYCLONE"

Statistics

Description

This incredible new machine mixes the heavy ordinance and high armor rating of the VR-041 with the night-vision and thermal-vision modes of the VR-038, making it the most balanced Cyclone to come out of Robotech R&D thus far.  Unfortunately, the extra armor makes the addition of the CADS-1 system impossible.

VR-101P "SHADOW DANCER"

Statistics

Description

The "Shadow Dancer" is still in the prototype phase and issued only to special forces.  The fantastic new cloaking system makes it possible to sneak up on almost any adversary and use the CADS-1 to dispatch them quickly.  Night-vision and thermal vision modes make the VR-101P the ultimate black-ops mecha

Statistics

Weapons

Description

Perhaps the greatest air-superiority mecha produced by the the Earth Defense Forces during the three Robotech Wars, the VF-6 Alpha fighter spawned no less than 11 major variants and served continuously over thirty years.  The VFA-6H was assigned to aces and officers during the 2nd REF Invasion of Earth and possesses upgraded armor and engines over previous models.  The VFA-6H model was replaced with the shadow equipped VFA-6X or "Shadow Fighter" during the third and final invasion in 2044.

VFA-6X "SHADOW FIGHTER"

Statistics

Weapons

Description

The VFA-6X or "Shadow Fighter" was produced in sufficient quantities that it was the primarily veritech fighter used by the REF during the third invasion of the Earth.  The Shadow Fighter mounts improved armor, weaponry, and possess increased maneuverability over the 2nd generation VFA-6H alpha fighter models.  The most important improvement was the addition of a Protoculture cloaking device which allows the Shadow Fighter to become temporarily invisible for short periods of time.

VFB-9 "BETA FIGHTER"

Statistics

Additional Weapons

Description

The Beta Fighter was introduced into the REF fleet during the 2nd invasion of the Earth.  The Beta can be used as a booster unit for a VFA-6 alpha fighter and can propel the combined unit into low Earth orbit; however, the Beta is a fully transformable fighter in its own right.  The Beta possesses increased armor and weaponry over the Alpha while sacrificing speed and maneuverability.  For the Third Invasion Fleet in 2044, the REF equipped its Beta fighters with Protoculture cloaking devices.

The Synchro-Cannon entered into full developmental production just immediately prior to the final invasion of the Earth.  The Synchro-Cannon can destroy multiple Invid mecha with a single shot or bring down Invid force fields.  Note:  The design of the Synchro Cannon in Robotech:  Invasion is substantially different than that shown in the Robotech series.
